Willie Mae "Bill" Robinson

Mrs. Willie Mae “Bill” Wallen Robinson, age 94, of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Belmont, N.C. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Fort Mill Church of God. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Debbie Dyches officiating and Robert Dillard Via, eulogist. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wyatt Cemetery in Newdale, N.C. The last surviving of four girls, Mrs. Robinson was born in Democrat, N.C to the late James William Wallen and Lenna McMahan Wallen. She graduated from Barnardsville High School, where she lettered in basketball for two years. In 1992, she was widowed by her husband, Verlin J. Robinson, after 47 years of marriage. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker and a member of the Fort Mill Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting and making jewelry.Surviving are two sons, James Robinson and V.J. Robinson, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Wanda Cavin of Fort Mill and Carol Via and her husband, Bob of Belmont, N.C; nine grandsons; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
