Mr. William “Bill” Floyd Baker (Mr. Bill), age 73, of Fort Mill, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.A memorial service of celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Glenrock Baptist Church at 1815 Doby's Bridge Road.Born in Monroe, N.C., Bill was a son of the late Grover William Baker and Brite Odessa Helms Baker. His first job was at the A&P in Fort Mill; he later worked for the Town of Fort Mill Public Works and finally retired from McClancy Seasoning in Indian Land. Bill was a volunteer firefighter with the Pineville City Fire Department and later with Riverview Fire Department in Fort Mill. Baptized in 2003, he was a devoted member of Glenrock Baptist Church. Bill sang for the Lord and played his harmonica with the Blue Grass Inspiration Group, and had recorded several CDs. He frequently visited his son, Billy Ray’s church, Go “Ye” Ministries, to sing Gospel. He loved his chiweenie dog, “Tiny”, driving his truck, and going to Pelican’s Snow Cones.Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ann Trimnal Baker; his children, Billy Ray Baker and Teresa Ann Baker, both of Fort Mill, and Eddie Poole of Concord, N.C.; two brothers, Roger D. Baker of Lancaster County, Jimmy D. Baker of West Virginia.; three sisters, Barbara Strickland and Dianne Freeman, both of Fort Mill and Pamela Patterson of McBee; five grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Nikki, Tabitha and Jessica; and his great-granddaughter, Samantha Lewis.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Funeral Fund for Bill Baker, Wolfe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 190, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

I got to know Mr Mr bill on April 7 2004 when I moved in on Epps farm rd he has always been a good friend and neighbor he would look out for me when my husband was gone out of town to work and eould letc me know when whemy dogs got loose sure gonna miss him . My grandkids always rode Thier bikes to his house because they knew he would have a pocket full of candy may u rest in peace our love goes to Mrs Ann teresa and Billy and the rest of the family

I can still see Billy walking up white street by the mill and coming up to place we all called the Corner. He had a portable cb radio sort or like a giant Walkie talkie ! Me and him became CB buddies then and remained friends always ! Prayers to the family and God bless !

I remember Billy we grew up on Wilson Street together. He was always so kind. I used to spend the night at his house with the sisters and he was always so sweet to me I never heard that man say anything bad about anyone. Rip Billy love always Tricia Griffin
