Mr. Wayne Bruce, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at The Blake at Baxter Village in Fort Mill.Born in Washington, DC, Mr. Bruce was the son of the late Julian Wallace Bruce and Lily Mahoney Bruce. He graduated from Suitland High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bruce was a glazier in the Washington DC area. He was a History enthusiast and enjoyed reading about history, visiting Battlefields, and telling stories of what happened there. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and working with his hands. He had a passion for working with stained glass and building bluebird houses which he gave to neighbors and friends. During his retirement he loved playing the lottery, playing games with friends, working in the yard, building bird houses, and hanging out on the porch or in the garage with his dog Lady. Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Bruce, age 90, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at The Life Care Center in Winter Haven, Florida. Born in Georgetown, Washington, DC, Mrs. Bruce was the daughter of the late Orville Bryan and Anna Weber. She graduated from Eastern High School then worked as a secretary for the U.S. Federal government for the IRS and Census Bureau. Mrs. Bruce was an artist and enjoyed traveling, especially in Europe. She was grateful to be recognized as an artist late in life with a gallery display at Home Instead in Winter Haven. During her retirement she enjoyed being a member of the Emerald Coast Women’s Club, practicing art, playing games with friends and water aerobics. Surviving is their daughter, Tammy Commisso and her husband Steven Commisso; their son, Gary Bruce and his wife Bonnie Bruce; Mr. Bruce’s brother Steve (Buck) Bruce; his sister. Mary Bruce Kampus; grandchildren; Nathan Bruce and Christopher Commisso. They were preceded in death by their daughter Kimberly June Bruce (2009).
