Ginny was born in Anthony, KS in 1939 to Jim and Gladys Burnet. She was raised on a ranch near Manchester, OK. After she graduated from Manchester High School, she went on to study nursing at Enid General Hospital. While in training, she met Ernie Johnson, a jet instructor at Vance Air Force Base. They were married in 1960. Ginny worked in nursing at various hospitals near the bases where Ernie was stationed. She has two children Bradford and Jayna, a daughter-in-law Tricia, and two grandsons Austin and Sean Murphy. Ernie left the Air Force in 1965 to fly for American Airlines in Chicago. They lived in Palatine, IL. Ginny loved the Lord, studying the bible and teaching bible study groups in her home. Her life was devoted to telling others the good news about Jesus. After Ernie retired from American, they moved to Florida. However, after 3 years they found beautiful eastern Tennessee. After 16 years in the Knoxville area, they relocated to Fort Mill, SC. As of last year, the entire family now resides in the Charlotte area, and they were able to surround Ginny with love, laughter and great memories in her final weeks. Ginny was 79 years young and a faithful servant of Christ. She leaves behind a sister Marjorie Corderman, and was preceded in death by her brother Marshall Burnet. A celebration of her life will be at First Baptist Church Chapel in Fort Mill on June 15th, 2018 at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Ginny to CRI Ministries; P.O. Box 65 Lenoir City TN, 37771 (CRIMinistries.org).
