Vaughan Dale Christenbury

Vaughan Dale Christenbury, age 62, passed away peacefully at Carolinas Medical Center after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 10:00 am at Unity Presbyterian Church, 303 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, SC 29715. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.Born November 5, 1954 in Asheville, NC, Vaughan was a devoted elementary school teacher for 40 years in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. For the past 12 years he taught gifted and talented 5th graders in the Fort Mill schools. He was beloved by all his students, fellow teachers, and administrators.Vaughan is survived by his loving husband and partner of 19 years, Robert Cook, Jr., and many close friends who loved and adored him. He was pre-deceased by his faithful canine companion "Mister".In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Vaughan to The Foundation for Fort Mill Schools, P.O.
