Tom was born April 23, 1939, in Greenville, S.C. He was a son of the late Glenn R. and Margaret Hall Kay. Tom graduated from Greenville High School in 1957. After graduation, he attended Furman University and later joined the Winn-Dixie Corp. After working with them for 20 years, he semi-retired and formed his own company, TK Sales. He ran the business until he finally retired in 2008. Tom was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Indian Land, S.C. He loved his church and his Lord. Tom served the church in many capacities. Surviving are his daughter, Connie Kay Fincher of Crawford, Ga.; his sons, T.K. Kay and his wife, Sylvia, of Decatur, Ga., David Kay of San Diego, Calif., and Chuck Watts and his wife, Connie, of Trophy Club, Texas; daughter-in-law, Eva Kay of Moorhead, MN; stepson, Michael Brown of Decatur, Ga.; six grandchildren, Lilly, Charlie, Cole, Annacate, Brent and Betthany; two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Tanner; his sister, Glenda Evans and her husband, Frank, of Braselton, Ga.; his brother-in-law and his wife, Cullen and Doris Osborne of Fayetteville, N.C.; many nieces and nephews; and Best Friend and Caregiver, Becky Adkins of Rock Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Kay; and his wife, Norita Kay. Visitation will be at Pleasant Hill United Methodist ChurchFamily Life Center, 238 Fort Mill Hwy. in Indian Land, S.C. one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2022. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joel McMakin officiating. Following the service, Tom will be laid to rest beside Norita Kay at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, SC 29707; or to Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250.
