Mr. Steven Lewis Orn, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 11, 2021, in Charlotte, NC.Born in Crosby, MN, Steve was the son of the late Donald John Orn and Caroline Louise (Johnson) Orn. He earned his bachelor’s degree at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN, and was dedicated to his profession as an Industrial Engineer throughout his career in retail distribution, including with Cato Corporation, his employer at the time of his death. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed competing in fantasy baseball with his sons and friends. Spending time with his family is what brought him the most pleasure, whether it was going to a concert, attending a sporting event, or just playing with his grandkids.Steve had friends everywhere he went due to his warm smile, infectious laugh, and an uncanny ability to come up with a joke at any moment, often times when you least expected it. He saw the good in every person he met and chose to always focus on the positives in life. The love he gave to his family and friends was abundant and will stay with them forever.He is survived by his wife of 41 years Kathryn Ann (Jasken) Orn; his children Jacob John (Kathileen) Orn of Vienna, WV, Matthew Steven (Jacqueline) Orn of Jarrettsville, MD, Kristen Leigh (Joseph McMillion) Orn of Gastonia, NC, and Peter Donald (Rachel) Orn of Fort Mill, SC; his sister Susan (Bradley) Fradet of Fargo, ND; and his grandchildren Sophia, Nolan, Ava, and Brendan.In lieu of a formal service, his family plans to hold celebration of life events in West Virginia and Minnesota for family and friends with dates to be determined.Read Obituary
