Stephen Michael Guter

Mr. Stephen Michael Guter, age 90, of 333 Sugar Creek Crossing, Fort Mill, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at home. Mr. Guter was born September 24, 1917 in Auburn, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II. He graduated from Troy High School, where he was a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated from St. Michaels College in Middlebury, Vt. Mr. Guter was a school teacher and coach at Middlebury High School, where he won several state football and basketball championships. Mr. Guter was also a supervisor at Bendix Corporation in Cohoes, N.Y. Surviving are his wife, Galina Guter; his sons, Stephen Guter of Seattle, W.A. and Jerry Guter and his wife, Carolyn, of Charlotte, N.C.; two granddaughters, Jessica Ann Guter and Summer Simpson; and great-grandchildren, Savannah and Wiley Simpson.Read Obituary
