Sarah Carolyn Godfrey

Mrs. Sarah Carolyn Thompson Godfrey, 82, of Fort Mill, died Thursday, February 25, 2016, at CMC-Pineville. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Fort Mill Church of God. The family will receive friends following the service. Born in Charlotte, Mrs. Godfrey was a daughter of the late Edward Eugene Thompson and Myrtle Faye Sagle Thompson. She retired as the office manager from Fort Mill Family Practice and was a member of Fort Mill Church of God. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed reading and woodworking. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Marvin Dixon Godfrey her son, Steven Dixon Godfrey and his wife, Debbie of Fort Mill; her son-in-law, Bobby Lawson of Fort Mill; her brother, Ted Eugene Thompson of Charlotte; her sister, June Faye Thompson Hammond of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
