Ruth Ann Sherer Hall

Mrs. Ruth Ann Scherer Hall, age 81, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Atrium Health in Pineville. The memorial service will be held in the spring at her home church, Mt. Carmel in Benton, Kentucky, where she lived for more than 30 years. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Hall was a daughter of the late William Edward Scherer and Florence Emily Elizabeth Kehring Scherer. She worked for MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois and later retired from Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois as a dietary aide. Mrs. Hall believed strongly in giving back to one’s community and supported many charities including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She was a member of the High Steppin’ Reds, part of the Marshall County Red Hat Society enjoyed painting and crafting. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Alan John Hall in 2003. She is survived by her sons, William Hall (DeeDee) of Maple Park, Illinois, Ronald Starman (Dottie) of Lee, Illinois and Michael Hall (Lena) of Bloomingdale, Illinois, and; and her daughter, Michelle Seamon (Peter) of Fort Mill, S.C.; her sister, Diane “Dee” Styer (Dick) of West Allis, Wisconsin ; brother-in-law, Guy Vanderburg of Union Mills, Indiana; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
