Ronald Ratliff Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronald Monroe Ratliff, age 69, died on Father’s Day, June 19, 2022, with family at his side in Pineville, NC. At his request, no service will be held. Ron was born December 3 ,1952 in Chilton County, Alabama. He attended high school in West Chicago, IL. After high school he served in the Army from 1972 to 1975. While taking some college classes following his military service, he learned the most by active participation and the school of hard knocks. He started learning basic carpentry, becoming an expert craftsman and home builder. His 24-year career with Pulte Homes followed. Beginning as an entry level construction manager, Ron advanced to a regional Vice President of Operations for a major market. Throughout his career as a no-nonsense man, he mentored and helped multiple people launch successful businesses and careers. In retirement, he established a landscaping business where he enjoyed entrepreneurship, spending time outside and passionately maintaining his client’s properties. Ron was known as having a generous heart and would readily help family and people in need. He was also a dog lover and leaves Labradors Brutie, Bucky and grand-dog Dallas, who miss Ron yelling at them to come inside. Ron is survived by his dearly loved family; his wife Ronda of 19 years and her children Kristin and Emily. He also is survived by his children Nathan (MaryKate) and Kristin. His grandchildren include Truman, Mckenzie, Davis, Ethan and Clara. Ron’s siblings who loved his ornery ways are Becky, Debbie (Dave), Kathy (Rich), Tim (Trea) and Tom (Marcey). A family celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
