Mr. Robert Howard Dietrich, 85, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Trinity Baptist Church in Van Wyck, with Pastor Jim Grennan and Mr. David Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery. Born in Montreal, Canada, Mr. Dietrich was the only child born to the late Perry Howard Dietrich and Jean Patterson Dietrich. He retired from the Hempstead Police Department. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed church, music, reading and building model ships. Surviving are his wife, Michelle Dietrich; his son, Michael Dietrich (Melissa) of Catawba; two daughters, Nancy LaCount (Norman) of Leslie and Lorena Trank (Edgar) of Rock Hill; twelve grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta Clute Dietrich, his son, William Dietrich; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Oakes, Jr. and Angel Miracle Lescault. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2016, at Wolfe Funeral Home.
