Richard LaMarr Kimbrell

Richard LaMarr Kimbrell, 79, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Kimbrell and Isolda Barwig Kimbrell, born on January 1, 1939 in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Fort Mill. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Shannon Ford, the Rev. Ralph Riley, the Rev. Roger Brown and the Rev. Randy Devinney officiating.Richard was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Mill and also attended Westerly Hills Baptist Church in Fort Mill. He graduated from Indian Land High School in 1957 and worked for RH Boulingy, Fiber Industry Inc. and BASF in Charlotte. He was a member of the Indian Land Birthday Club. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Marie Kimbrell and his brother Andrew Jackson Kimbrell, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura Lee Collins Kimbrell, and three of their children, son Richard LaMarr Kimbrell, Jr. and wife Sherry of Heath Springs, SC; daughter Laurie Kimbrell Wilson and husband Martin of Fort Mill, SC; and daughter Sallie Kimbrell Blaylock and husband Kevin of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Jeremy Huggins and wife Taryn, Michael Kimbrell and wife Erin, Brian Kimbrell, Kevin Kimbrell, Rebekah Pippin and husband Jake, Samantha Kimbrell, Andrew Wilson and Lee Blaylock; and 5 great-grandchildren, Alexis Huggins, Madison Kimbrell, Wyatt Kimbrell, Audrey Pippin and Clint Pippin, Jr. Donations can be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
