Mrs. Phyllis Walker Childers, age 86, of Fort Mill, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2023, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.The family will receive friends from Noon until 4 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 304 Academy Street, Fort Mill, and visitation at 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, at the Fort Mill Church of God.The funeral ceremony will be at 2 p.m. in the Fort Mill Church of God Sanctuary, Saturday, January 28, 2023, with Bishop Jacob King, Bishop David Kemp, Pastor Larry Nivens and Pastor Mike Welch. The burial will be at Unity Cemetery following the service.Born in Fort Mill, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Lonnie Odell Walker and the late Edna Dinkins Walker. She graduated from Fort Mill High School and was an office manager for Servisco for more than 30 years and retired from Dyke Industries after ten years of employment. Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Fort Mill Church of God, where she was a pianist and organist. She was a former president of Whitten Village and was a lifetime board member.Surviving are three sons, Darryl Alexander Childers of Clinton and David Childers of Townville and Terry Wayne Perry of Fort Mill; three daughters, Patricia Perry of Rock Hill, Angie Wallen (Bryan) of Fort Mill and Michelle Childers of Columbia; her sister, Linda Hilton (dec. Marion) of Fort Mill; her sister-in-law, Della Walker of Rock Hill; 14 grandchildren, LaDonna, Heather, Matthew, Jennifer, Susan, Joanna, Jesse, Corey, Justin, Eric, Mark, Ashley, Matt, and Gary; 24 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grand twins; lots of nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Noel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack K. Childers, Sr.; three sons, Donald “Sandy” Perry, Kenneth Jack “Kenny” Childers Jr., and Edward James “Eddie: Childers; her daughter, LaDonna Gaye Perry; and a brother, Cledith Walker.Memorials may be made to the Young at Heart, P.O.
