Norita Kay, age 78 of Indian Land, SC passed away January 10th, 2021. Norita was born in Whiteville, NC and was daughter of the late Deamer C. and Ruby Butler Osborne. Norita graduated from Nakina High School in 1960 and attended Fayetteville Methodist College in NC. She worked in the supermarket industry most of her career with Wetterau Foods/Red & White and later joined Food Lion where she retired as a store manager in 1998. After retirement, Norita worked with Laser Print Services retiring again in 2007. Norita was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Indian Land, SC. She loved her church and served as President of United Methodist Women, President of Agape Seekers Sunday School class and Chairman of the SPRC. She also enjoyed helping with the serving of meals for various church occasions. Norita also enjoyed reading, writing, and charity work. She loved her family and would always cook their favorite food when they visited. Everyone loved her macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and her special sour cream pound cake. She wrote and published her mother’s family cookbook; she was her mother’s caretaker for several years. Surviving are her husband Tom Kay, her son William Charles “Chuck” Watts Jr. and wife Connie of Lexington, SC, David Kay of VA Beach, VA, TK Kay of Decatur GA, and Connie Fincher of Crawford GA. Grandchildren, Lilly, Charlie, Annacate, and Cole, her brother Cullen Osborne and wife Doris and nieces Kelly Modlin, Brandi Henry and Families. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Charles Watts Sr.Viewing will be at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, SC Thursday January 14th at 10:00 AM with a Celebration of Her Life beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a burial in the Church Cemetery.
