Nancy Sweetland, born in Penfield, NY, July 21, 1931.Predeceased by parents Jacob and Elizabeth Stenner, siblings Geraldine, Elizabeth, Richard; husband Donald A. Sweetland, daughter Laurie. Survived by son Mark (Mark); daughters, Ann Kunes, Ellen (Joe) Bradshaw, Amy (Mark) Tewksbury; grandson, David; granddaughters, Laurie, Elizabeth and Stephanie.Nancy attended Nazareth College and graduated from Columbia University with her degree in Physical Therapy.Married to Don in 1953, they raised their family on Farm Brook Drive, Penfield. Nancy worked as a physical therapist for children with cerebral palsy, and for many years at the Rochester Friendly Home as a dearly loved head physical therapist. She was an avid gardener, raising vegetables for dinner and flowers surrounding the house. All remember her canning and baking skills! She loved vacationing each summer on Keuka Lake with the Plumbs. After retirement, Don and Nancy spent many happy years in Sarasota, Florida in their dream home, visited often by family and friends. She most recently lived at The Blake at Baxter Village, where she received loving care.The Stenners were among the first settlers in Penfield. Jake operated a general store, which turned into a hardware store in second generation with son Dick.There will be a private service for family. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Alzheimer’s Association.
