Mary Hood Rayfield

Ms. Mary Lavania Hood Rayfield, 71, of Fort Mill, died Thursday, September 24, 2015, at her home.The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Jerry DeVinney and Linda Warren officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.Born in Rock Hill, Mary was a daughter of the late William “Will” Arthur Hood and Sadie Bell Potts Hood. She grew up in Possum Hollow Road in Indian Land and attended school in Indian Land. She loved her coffee, lottery tickets and taking care of her family and strangers alike.Surviving are her ex-husband, Kenneth Rayfield Sr.; three sons, Anthony “Tony” Scott Rayfield, Kenneth “Stony” Rayfield Jr. and Richard Nelson Rayfield (Suzanne), all of Fort Mill; her brothers, George and Robert Hood; her sister, Sara Hood Culp of Fort Mill; her long-time companion, Harold Roy King of Lake Wylie; grandchildren, Tiffany Rayfield Foster, Crystal Hood, Stefanie Rayfield, Shana Rayfield, Steven Rayfield and Scottie Rayfield; eight great-grandchildren; and her angel here on earth, Janet Clarke and her best friend, Teresa Honeycutt.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
