Mrs. Marilyn Lambert Neely Boatwright, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Unity Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Boatwright officiating. Born in Fort Mill, Marilyn was a daughter of the late the Rev. Carl Lambert and Lillie Simmons Lambert. She graduated from Fort Mill High School. Marilyn was retired as director of admitting at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and later from the Sanger Clinic as an office manager. She liked flowers and enjoyed watching her husband, Tommy, plant them. Surviving are her husband of four years, Thomas Boatwright; her son, Ricky S. Neely and his wife, Kelly of Hampton, Va.; her daughter, Ashley McClain and her husband, Dwayne of Fort Mill; her brother, Ernest C. (Anita) Lambert of Rock Hill; her stepchildren, Gene Boatwright of Mt. Holly, N.C., Debbie (Jim) Grumbles of Indian Land, Tammy (Frank) Carter of Ehrhardt and Darrin (Rose) Boatwright of Waxhaw, N.C.; her grandchildren, Alex (Cassandra), Aaron, Hannah and Jacob “J.D.”; her great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Maddox and Kylee; step grandchildren, Katie, Alex, Victoria, Jackson and Grayson.; and step great-grandchildren, Lawson and Anna. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion E. Neely (1984); her sister, Janice Lambert Taylor (2000); and a grandson, Adam S. Neely (2019). Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
