Lynn Charles Tollison, 91, of Fort Mill SC received his lifelong goal of meeting his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2022. He was born in Union, SC on May 14, 1930 to Norman Guy and Olive Belue Tollison.On August 12, 1951, Mr. Tollison married his high school sweetheart, Betty Loretta Puckett. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Clemson University in 1954. Mr. Tollison served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge from the Army, He joined Springs Industries as an engineer. He retired from this position in 1985, finishing his professional career with Republic Textile in York, SC.Mr. Tollison was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church for more than 50 years serving as Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and deacon. He was honored by the church with the Lifetime Deacon decree in 2021. One of his most favorite positions within the church was co-leader, alongside his wife, of the Kool Kats. The Kool Kats were a group of senior adults who played various homemade instruments, performed skits and sang songs to entertain senior adults in nursing facilities and at senior functions within other churches in North and South Carolina and Georgia.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 70 years, Betty, and son’s Barry (Julie) of Charlotte and Ron (Lynn) of Fort Mill and daughter-in-law Marie Tollison of Fort Mill. Mr. Tollison was blessed with five grandchildren, Anthony Tollison, Jeff Tollison (Lisa), Jennifer Lee (Charles), Angie Reiking (Matt) and Matt Tollison (Heather). In addition, he had 10 great-grandchildren and 6 ½ great, great-grandchildren. Mr. Tollison was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law, Gene (Sara) Tollison all of Union SC. The family wishes to give special thanks to his caregiver, Phyllis Johnson.Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lakes Road in Rock Hill.Memorials may be made to Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, 115 Massey Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715; or to Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O.
