Lorraine Staggs Gordon

Mrs. Lorraine Staggs Gordon, age 82, returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 10 2018, after a battle with cancer. Her devotion to her family and her belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 2018, at Higher Ground Church in Indian Land. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Steve Jacks and the Rev. Chuck Staggs officiating. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.Lorraine was born to the late Roy and Doris Staggs in Bermidgi, Minnesota. She grew up in Pineville, N.C. Lorraine was a former member of Southview Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as choir director. She later joined Higher Ground Church in Indian Land, where she also taught Sunday school. For many years, Lorraine led a Bible Study group every Monday night in her home. She was formerly employed with Ivey’s Department Store. Lorriane is survived by three sons and their wives, Charles “Chip” and Karen Gordon of Richburg, Greg and Rae Gordon of Rock Hill and Roger and Debbie Gordon of Clover. She is also survived by her brother, Chuck Staggs; her sister, Carroll Hammett; five grandchildren, Casey Westberry, Christopher Gordon, Shanie Ramirez, Ricky Gordon and Haley White; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Gordon, Jr. (1998); and an infant daughter.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Care LLC, P.O.
