Lewis "Ed" Totherow

Lewis Edward Totherow, age 88, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Vernon Thornhill officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Grandview Memorial Park Mausoleum on Cherry Road in Rock Hill, S.C.Born in Lesslie, S.C., Mr. Totherow was one of twelve children born to the late George Glenn Totherow and Fannie Elizabeth Grizzle Totherow. During the Korean War, Mr. Totherow served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1955. He was a machine operator for Westinghouse in Charlotte, N.C. and retired in 1992. Mr. Totherow enjoyed spending time at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Brooks Totherow in 1998.Surviving are two sons, Timmy Totherow and Jimmy Totherow (Carrie), of Fort Mill, S.C.; three daughters, Susan Barfield (Randy) of Fort Mill, S.C., Gail Spears (Ken) of Rock Hill, S.C. and Jane Totherow of Fort Mill, S.C.; his brother, Rathiel Totherow (Sandra) of Van Wyck, S.C.; his sister, Dorcas Totherow Moore of Anderson, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Ball, Elisabeth Langdale, Hanna Sullivan, Justin Spears, Emily Totherow, Leanne Totherow and Grace Totherow; and seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Caden and Baylor Ball, Noah, Karsyn and Cole Spears and River Sullivan.Mr. Totherow also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Eva Hope Totherow (2008) and siblings: Dennis Totherow, Leonard Totherow, Randall Totherow, Tressie Totherow Patterson, Arlen Totherow, Clarence Totherow, Mildred Totherow Clark, Elmer Totherow and Doyle Totherow.The family wishes to express their appreciation to his nurses Karen, Charlie, Cindy and Samantha for their loving care.
