Lewis James Plyler

Lewis Plyler, 98, of Fort Mill went home to his Lord and savior on Friday morning, August 24, 2018.Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.Lewis was reunited with his parents, Carl and Mattie Plyler; five brothers and three sisters; and his beloved wife, Madreth Plyler, in heaven. He leaves behind a son, Lewis Jr (Linda); a grandson, Brad (Hayley); two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Adeline; his sister, Noraleen Smith; his Zoar church family; and several special nieces and nephews.Lewis was a kind man who loved his family, farming, and old cars. He always offered a twinkle-eyed smile and an oatmeal cream cookie to anyone who entered his home. He loved spending his mornings with his best friends, the “Hardee’s boys,” having breakfast. We imagine Grand Dad will spend his eternity working the fields of heaven on a shiny, new tractor.The family would like to thank his caregivers, who he referred to as “his girls,” at Carolina Gardens in Rock Hill for their excellent care, the nurses and staff at Riverview Hospice for their wonderful, loving care, and the many family and friends who visited, sang, played music for, and loved Lewis over the last few years.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zoar United Methodist Church, 4302 Stack Road, Monroe, NC 28112.Read Obituary
