Larry W. Smith Sr.

Mr. Larry W. Smith, Sr., age 76, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Glenrock Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3 p.m., with Pastor Gene Flack officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.Born in Falkville, Alabama, Larry was a son of the late Carl and Linnie Berryman Smith Sumner. He was the owner and operator of Larry’s Automotive and Tire Service. Larry loved his family and enjoyed fishing and singing gospel music.Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wanda Helms Smith; his children, Mike Smith of Fort Mill, Patti Smith Evans (Shannon) of Fort Mill, Larry Woodrow “Woody” Smith, Jr. of Flat Creek, and Sandy Smith Gee of Richburg; his mother-in-law, Margaret Helms of Fort Mill; his son-in-law, John Southwood; eight grandchildren, William Jacob Hammond, Mason Lee Evans, Andy Smith, Brooke Smith, Shiann Gee, Dylan Southwood, Kayla Southwood and Kyle Southwood; four great-grandchildren.In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Roger Smith; his daughter, Stephanie Southwood; his grandson, William Glenn Pittman; and his stepfather, Furman Sumner.Memorials in Larry’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
