Ken, Leigh and Alisha,

my prayers are with you and your family. As a member of the Carolina Lightnin' team we had the good fortune to get to know Judy and receive the blessing of her smile, cheerful disposition and friendship. I still remember the help she gave me to find my lost wedding ring, a big issue for a newlywed at that time. I am saddened by our shared loss, and hope you find comfort in the many great memories you have of her as wife, friend, mom and grandmother.
God bless you all,

Miguel Avila

I remember the first day that I met Judy at Gardner Webb College. She was not much
older than me, but was already a graduate of Garner Webb and a successful
coach and PE teacher. She was tall and beautiful, and had the warmest most contagious smile ever, and a beautiful zest for life and people. She immediately became my hero, and continues to be my hero today.

RIP Mrs. Adkins. You are loved and missed. I often wondered after graduation where you were and how you were. You made high school PE fun and doable. I pray your family has strength and peace. So very sorry for their loss. God bless.
