Johnnie Mae Martin

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Starnes Martin, 86, of Fort Mill passed away on October 5th, 2016 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. She was born on May 14, 1930 to John Henderson and Lona Ashley Starnes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Jackson (Jack) Martin, Sr., son, William Jackson Martin, Jr and daughter-in-law, Debbie Martin.Mrs. Martin was born in the Osceola community of Lancaster County and moved to Fort Mill as a small child. Mrs. Martin retired from Lance after 20 years of employment and was an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.Surviving Mrs. Martin are her children, Johnny L. Martin (late wife, Debbie) of Rock Hill, Jackie M. Ward and partner Frank of Clover, Michael D. Martin and wife Brenda of Rock Hill, Derwin C. Martin and wife Christine of Charlotte and Anthony E. Martin and wife Kim of Fort Mill; nine grandchildren John Martin, Jr., Krystal O’Connor, David Martin, Benjamin Ward, Amanda Ward, Ellen Williams, Michael Martin, Jr., Christopher Martin and Melia Martin. She is also survived by her 12 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, October 10th, 2016 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Fort Mill. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Martin will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 10th, 2016 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Fort Mill with Reverend Karen H. Radcliffe officiating.
