John Charles Hawfield

Mr. John Charles Hawfield, 88, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Pruitt Health Care in Rock Hill. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, March 23rd at Harrison United Methodist Church in Plummer Hall Room 100. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Kyle McCain officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. A Reception will follow the services in Plummer Hall Room 101.Born in Charlotte, Mr. Hawfield was a son of the late John Olin Hawfield and Mabel Beaver Hawfield. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Hawfield was retired from Carolina Heating and Air Company and was an active member of Harrison United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and gardening.Surviving are three sons, John Jr., David and Kenneth Hawfield, all of Fort Mill; his daughter, Kimberly Simmons of Stanley, NC; his sister, Carol Hagler of Wilson, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Thomas and Kenlee. Mr. Hawfield was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Patterson Hawfield in 1987.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harrison U.M.C.
