Mr. Joe Richard “Ricky” Griffin, Jr., age 64, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his home.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Wolfe Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 p.m.Born in Rock Hill, Ricky was the oldest of five children born to Joe Richard Griffin, Sr. and Carolyn Lee Carothers Griffin. He was a 1975 graduate of Fort Mill High School and worked at Culp Brothers in high school. Ricky was a tire specialist at General Tire until he retired after 25 years. Rick loved his grandson, Blake, and his beloved dogs. He was an avid Motocross rider and was a big part of the Kids for Jesus program which started its roots at First Church of the Nazarene in Rock Hill.He is survived by his son, Richard “Buster” Griffin (Deana) of Rock Hill; his siblings, Mike Griffin (Phyllis) of Fort Mill, Julie G. Sweatt (Larry) of Rock Hill, Greg Griffin (Angie) of Fort Mill, and Crissy G. Anderson (Warren) of Fort Mill; his grandson, Blake Griffin; his special friend, Carla Iannone; his dogs, Duke, Baby and Little Pup; his nieces, Michelle, Lauren, Katie, Olivia, Harper, and Finley ; and his nephews, Wesley, Luke, and Barron.
