Jo Ann Thomas

Mrs. Jo Ann Cunningham Thomas, age 77, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Fort Mill Hospital.The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill.The funeral ceremony will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, in the Chapel at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Shannon Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.Born in Sedalia, Missouri she was a daughter of the late Joseph John Cunningham and Antolia “Ann” Zolia Blanco-Martinez. Jo Ann received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina in the summer of 1968. In her last 18 months of school, she met James Ellison Thomas and they were married in January of 1968 while she was still in school. She was was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lifeway Sunday School Class.Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, James Ellison Thomas; her children, Jeremy Stephen Thomas and Julie Ann Thomas Griffin (Hugh); and her granddaughters, Delaney Kimberly Griffin and Addison Ann Griffin, all of Fort Mill.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 121 Monroe White Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715 or to Samaritan’s Purse, 7100 Forest Point Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28217.Read Obituary
