James Harold Wingard

Mr. James Harold Wingard, 82, has gone to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 19, 2016 at Carolina Gardens in York, SC. He was born March 5, 1933 in Salisbury, NC to John Ralph and Mae Earnhardt Wingard.Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He grew up in Waxhaw, NC. After high school, Jim opened a John Deere Dealership in Rock Hill, SC, where he operated this company alongside his brother for many years. He could mechanically fix anything, and loved utilizing this skill by running his tractors in tractor pulls. Jim also loved and exceled in sports; but baseball was his all-time favorite.Jim was preceeded in death by his wife of 43 years, Gloria Dyar Wingard, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by two sons, Tommy Wingard of Fort Mill and Stephen Wingard of Raleigh, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Mia and Greg Pendarvis of Fort Mill, SC; his beloved grandchildren, CG, Gracie, Cody, and Christopher Pendarvis, all of Fort Mill, SC; his sister, Ruth Sensenbrenner; his brother Ralph Wingard, and brother Earl Wingard, all of Waxhaw, NC; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and Hospice at the Memory Care Unit at Carolina Gardens in York, SC.A private family graveside service was held on Sunday, February 21st at Waxhaw City Cemetery (Southside).Memorials may be made to the Memory Care Unit at Carolina Gardens, 44 Ross Cannon Street, York, SC 29745; or to Agape Hospice WYC, 12 North Congress Street, York, SC 29745.Read Obituary
