Jack Thompson Morris

Mr. Jack Thompson Morris, Sr., age 86 of Tega Cay, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020, at his home.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Becky Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.Born in Villa Rica, Georgia, Jack was a son of the late Oliver Berry Morris and Iona Thompson Morris. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jack was a retired supervisor with Rexham. He enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren, golfing, and watching game shows.Surviving are his wife of 41 years, B. Darlene Morris; his son, Jack Morris, Jr. of Arizona and; his three daughters, Judy LaVerne Martin and her husband, Stephen of St. Charles, Missouri, Lee Ann Rutledge and her husband, Alan of Stanley, N.C. and Kelley Candee of Tega Cay, S.C.; two brothers, Don Morris and his wife, Mary, and Tommy Morris, and his wife, Janice, all of Villa Rica, Ga.; his sisters, Lynn Miller of Douglasville, Ga. and Dianne Hannan, and her husband, Fred of Augusta, Ga.; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Mike Miner and Tony Miner (Laurie); his brother, Dean Morris; and two sisters, Valeria Waters and Jo Cash.Read Obituary
