Iris Giles Apperson, age 73 died Saturday, June 11th, 2022, at her home in the arms of her daughters. She was a child of God and went peacefully home to heaven and will be missed by so many family and friends.Iris was one of six children born to Doris and Sylvester Giles. She was a gifted and talented singer. She was creative, artistic and could do most anything she put her mind to. Iris was strong, kind, beautiful and so very funny. Her great sense of humor was quick witted and always on time. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother “Nan”, Sister, Aunt and Friend.Iris is survived by her daughters, Amy Hafner Dockery, Cynthia Hafner Gholson and her spouse David, and Shannon Melton Lane. She has seven grandchildren, Bon Hafner Flores and his spouse Becky, James Gholson and his spouse Trish “Princess”, Brandon Gholson, Eleanor “Nora” Melton, Lydia Melton Lane; and her great-grandchildren son of James, Knox Lee Gholson and daughter Laynee Gray Gholson. Siblings: Gwen Johnson, Larry Giles and her spouse Pat, preceded in death, Steve Giles and his surviving spouse Elaine, David Giles and his spouse Clara, Marcia Lane and her spouse Kelly. She has numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.Psalm 100 1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God.
