The service maybe viewed at: https://youtu.be/Um6ZJaJSqUsMrs. Ida “Tootsie” Ervin Massey, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at St. John’s United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Karen H. Radcliffe officiating. The burial will be at Unity Cemetery.Born in the Pleasant Valley community of Indian Land, “Tootsie” was one of eight children born to the late Richard Ervin and Essie Shaw Ervin. She was a weaver for Springs Industries for more than thirty-nine years and retired from the Fort Mill School District Cafeteria. Ida was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church and the Ladies Bible Class. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, working in the yard, and long afternoon walks.Surviving are three children, Linda Spinks (Larry) of Fort Mill, Rick Massey (Jane) of Pendleton, S.C., and Debbie Massey of Fort Mill; two siblings, Gene Ervin of Fort Mill and Hallie Conrad of Fort Mill; six grandchildren, Josh, Katie, Kimberly, Jaimie, Whitney, and J.J.; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Massey (2004); her grandson, Jeremy (2019) and five siblings.The family would like to thank Hospice & Community Care for their love and services.Memorials may be made to St. John’s U.M.C., P.O.
