Helen Wright Duncan

Mrs. Helen Wright Duncan, age 97, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Wayne T. Patrick House in Rock Hill. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Sanctuary of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. The funeral follow at 1:30 pm with Pastor Joel McMakin officiating. The entombment will follow at the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Anson Memorial Park in Wadesboro, N.C. Born in Gaston County, N.C., Helen was the last surviving child of John Neely Wright and Freida Smith Wright. She was raised in Belmont, N.C. where she graduated high school and worked as a midwife for some years before starting her own family. Helen lived in Peachland, N.C. for many years where her husband, Robert Lee Duncan (d. 1999) owned R.L. Duncan Sales. She was the oldest living member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and a very proud grandmother to her only grandson, Aidan. Helen is survived by her son, Charles “Mike” Humphrey and his wife, Brenda, and their son, Aidan, all of Indian Land, S.C.
