George Ernest Schueren, 83, of Fort Mill, SC (formerly of Wappingers Falls, NY) passed away January 2, 2019 after a courageous 8 month battle with Stage 4 lung cancer. George was born in Patterson NJ, and raised in The Bronx, NY. He was the sole child of Werner and Rose (Schmoker) Schueren.George proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War and after graduating from New York University, he worked in the NY State Insurance Business for 40 years - retiring in 2000. A dedicated husband, selfless father, and doting grandfather, George always put the needs of his family ahead of his own.Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Roberta Jean (Eaglesham) Schueren. He is also survived by three sons, Paul Schueren (Maryann), Mark Schueren (Donna) and John Schueren (Tracie), his daughter, Laura Schueren Aiken (Bob), eight grandchildren, Dara Schueren Perelman (Jason), Zak Schueren (Emily), Trevor Schueren, Thomas Aiken, William Aiken, Emma Schueren, Katharine Schueren and Jason Andrew Schueren; and two great-grandchildren, Violetta Schueren and Adelina Perelman.Interment will be private.Read Obituary
Dutch my Bro. We (you, Delaney, Clark and I)hit many ports. One special place for us was the International Seaman's Club in Naples, Italy. Nothing but the best of memories from going there every time we hit port. A rum and coke was .15 cents. Steak and eggs was 35 cents. Really whooped it up for a dollar!! Many more memories. I was blessed to have you three for shipmates. Will sail again some day.
