Mrs. Gail Ruth Lancaster McDonald, age 71, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Atrium Health Pineville.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 6:50 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Brown officiating.Born in Providence, R.I., Gail was a daughter of the late James Lancaster and Ruth Dennis Lancaster. She was a former administrative assistant for Ladd School in Rhode Island and was a homemaker. Gail enjoyed homemaking, working in the yard, cooking and sewing.Surviving are her husband, George McDonald, Jr.; her children, G. Dwayne McDonald (Sharon) of Clayton, N.C., Bryan James “B.J.” McDonald (Amanda) of Rock Hill and Kerri Gail Parker (Travis) of Rock Hill; her brother, James “Butch” Lancaster, Jr. of Westerly, R.I.; her sister, Donna Lancaster of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Madison McDonald, Jessica McDonald and Kaylee McDonald, Austin Parker, Cayden Parker and Adelyn Parker; and great-granddaughter, Paisley Parker.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made at www.MilitaryAppreciationDay.org to the Charleston, S.C. My sweet niece Gail Ruth Lancaster McDonald has gone home to God . When he created you he created a 💎. You have meant the world to me. Can’t imagine not being able to reach you by phone. Tears have been flowing down my face, but maybe I soon tears will slow , and I will have the memories to calm me down. You were a great daughter, wife, mother. You siblings loved you. Now you a united with a huge family that welcomes you into your heavenly home.
