Moore, Sr., age 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at St. John’s United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Karen H. Radcliffe officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.Born in Monroe, N.C., Fred was a son of the late Edwin Parks Moore and Luddie Yandle Moore. He served in the Army National Guard and was retired from Springs Industries after 44 years of service. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and helped with the Men’s Bible Class Breakfast. Fred enjoyed fishing, camping, and going to the mountains and the beach. He was a former member of the Fort Mill Rescue Squad, and a lifetime member of the Fort Mill Fire Department. Fred was a York Rite Mason, and a member of the Catawba Masonic Lodge 56, the Crescent Shrine Club, the Hillbilly Clan #2, the Eastern Star Chapter #4, and Hejaz Shrine.Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Judy Lowder Moore; his children, Fred W. Moore, Jr. (Paige), and Paige Fain (Dustin), all of Fort Mill; three sisters, Ruth Hammond, Louise Nivens, and Sharon Godfrey (Neil), all of Fort Mill; and five grandchildren, Bryson Cole Fain, Claire Addison Moore, Wyatt Parks Fain, Wesley Roe Moore, and Harrison Shawn Fain. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Moore, Brady Lee Moore, Frances Starnes, Peggy Dixon, and Betty Duncan.Memorials may be made to St. John’s U.M.C., P.O.
