Mr. Frank Petrone, 87, of Fort Mill, died Saturday, November 4, 2017, at home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Gil Kinney officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park – Hollis Lakes in Rock Hill. Born in West New York, New Jersey, Mr. Petrone was a son of the late Vincent James Petrone and Maria “Mary” Pentaro Petrone. He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves during the Korean wartime. Mr. Petrone and his late wife, Eleanor Caruana Petrone lived in Gardiner, N.Y. for over 30 years. He was self-employed as a roofing contractor and homebuilder, and served as a volunteer firefighter with the Shawangunk Valley Fire Company for 24 years. A member of the N.R.A., Mr. Petrone was a deer and small game hunter. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, loved antique cars and traveling to the Jersey shore with his family. After moving to Fort Mill in 1984, Mr. Petrone joined Real Life Assembly Church. Surviving are three sons, Frank Gaetano Petrone (Grace) of Gardiner, N.Y., Brian Joseph Petrone of Rock Hill and Vincent Daniel Petrone (Leasa) of Fort Mill; his daughter, Corinne Petrone Kimble (Mark) of Rock Hill; his brothers, Edward Pertone of Fort Mill and Paul Petrone of New Jersey; his sisters, Terri DiBlasis of New Jersey and Mary Anne Hagen of Maryland; grandchildren, Rachel, Cyndee, Frances, Michael, Daniel, Danielle, Anthony, Isabella and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Alecsander, Emma, Sophia, Ava and Aiden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Petrone was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Caruana Petrone (2015) and his daughter, Maria Elena Burnett (2004). The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of Vincent Petrone, 1642 Pine Bluff Court in Fort Mill.
