Floyd Privette Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Ernest Floyd Privette, Sr., age 76, was called home Wednesday, July 6, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Banks Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Scott Hilborn officiating. Born in Charlotte, Floyd was the son of the late Bruce Privette and Elizabeth Mabel Morris Privette. He graduated from Fort Mill Adult High School in 2000 and proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Floyd retired after 30 years of employment from Continental General. He was a faithful, long-time member of Banks Presbyterian Church. For years, he also mentored many young men as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 78. Floyd loved spending time with his family, cooking holiday meals, tinkering with his old tractor and cars in his shop and made the best pecan pie in the south. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, E. Jane Kell Privette; his son, Ernest “Ernie” F. Privette, Jr. (Teresa) of Indian Land; his daughter, Rena Privette Beall (Jim) of Charlotte; four brothers, Leon Privette of Fort Mill, S.C., Bruce Privette of Stallings, N.C., Gary Privette of Stanley, N.C. and Wayne Privette of Stanley, N.C.; sister, Juanita Ann Edwards of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren, Beth, Andrew, Caroline, Grace, Lacey and Stella; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vance Privette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Banks Presbyterian Church, 10012 New Town Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173
