Evelyn Fray

Mrs. Evelyn Sharon Weed Fray, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Novant Health Care, Matthews, NC. A Memorial Mass for Evelyn will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at St. Philp Neri Catholic Church. Evelyn was born in Norwalk, Connecticut to the late Kenneth Weed and Florence Ayers Weed. She received her Associates Degree and was a legal secretary in the patent industry. Evelyn was a devoted wife of 42 years. She raised her two children in Trumbull, CT before retiring to Fort Mill, SC. Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother and always incredibly proud of her family. She was happiest surrounded by her family and friends and beloved cat, Polly. She was an avid reader, enjoyed politics and volunteering at her Church. Evelyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Evelyn is survived by her son, Victor Kenneth Fray and her daughter-in-law Kelly Fray as well as her granddaughters Averrie and Adelyn Fray; her daughter, Laura Catherine Fray; and her grandsons Alex and Kyle Kuehn and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Joseph Fray. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed serving her community on the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. She also was actively involved at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
