Donald Leroy Sweem

Mr. Donald Leroy Sweem, age 87, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021, at Wellmore of Tega Cay.Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the Family Life Center of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with Masonic Rites following. The Celebration of Life will continue with Pastor Joel McMakin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Mr. Sweem was a son of the late Herbert Howard Sweem and Donabelle Olmstead Sweem Henrichsen. He proudly served in the U.S, Army. Mr. Sweem was an Executive Vice President with Systems Associates, Inc. in Charlotte. He was a Past Master of the Indian Land Masonic Lodge, also a Scottish Rites Mason, and a Shriner. Mr. Sweem loved his family and enjoyed riding and showing his horses, and golfing.Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Donna Sweem; his children, Debra Rugg (Dayton) of Fort Mill, Diane Carnes (Tony) of Fort Mill, Danny Sweem of Chicago, IL, and David Sweem (Jaimie) of Fort Mill; his sister, Carol Pinger (Gordon) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herb Sweem and his daughter-n-law, Leslie Sweem.Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill U.M.C.
