Mr. David William Smith

Mr. David “Smitty” William Smith, age 76, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Atrium Health in Pineville.The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joel McMakin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.David was a son of the late Lonnie Robert and Eula Smith. Mr. Smith loved his family, especially his grandson and great-grandsons, his dog Chopper, as well as racing go-karts and NASCAR.Surviving are his best friend Vickie Lump of Fort Mill; his sisters, Betty Tonander and her husband, Larry of Largo Florida, Linda Nash and her husband, Bob of Canton, NC; his sister-in-law, Shirley Smith of Fort Mill; his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Smith of Fort Mill; his grandson, David Wade Smith of Fort Mill; his great-grandsons Devin Allen Smith, Aiden William Smith, and David Ashton Smith; and many nieces, nephews and long-time friends. David was preceded in death by his son, David “Skeet” Smith and daughter Donna Smith, his brother, Richard D. Smith and his sister, Joyce Boatright. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
