Charles Garmany

Mr. Charles Robert Garmany, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 13TH, 2020, at Lancaster Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, SC.The family will receive friends from 3PM until 4PM, on Saturday, December 19TH, 2020 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. A celebration of life service will follow in the Chapel at 4PM.Born in Hammond, Indiana, Chuck was the only child born to the late Charles Hubbard Garmany and Margaret Jean Brackney Garmany. He attended Indiana University for two years, was a long-time resident of Lansing, IL, then moved his family to Indian Land more than 30 years ago. He retired from Polypore (previously Celanese, then Celgard) in Charlotte, NC. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family working in his yard, and reading his extensive library of history books.Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Lynne Castle Garmany; his children, Rebecca Lyn Garmany of Fort Mill, SC, Laura Jeanine Kennedy (Ken) of Fort Mill, SC, Kathleen Marie Kingsbury of Hubert NC, and Charles Arthur Garmany (Adrianna) of Indian Land, SC; three grandchildren, Emma Kingsbury, Della Garmany, and Ryan Epling; two aunts: Mary Jane Boldt of Michigan and Patricia Charbo of Wyoming, and many loving cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his constant companion and Furbaby, Missy (the dachshund).
