Brigitte Dianne Crook

Miss Brigitte Dianne Crook, 40, of Charlotte, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at her home.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Higher Ground Church, 8365 Possum Hollow Road in Indian Land, S.C. with Pastor Steve Jacks officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.Born in Charlotte, Brigitte was a daughter of Carolyn Heaton Crook and the late Alfred Carl Crook. She received an Associate Degree in Business from York Technical College and also attended both Clemson University and Winthrop University. Brigitte was employed as a computer analyst and was a member of Higher Ground Church and attended Forest Hill Church in Charlotte. She was very outdoorsy and athletic, and was a former kickboxing/aerobics instructor for a Charlotte area YMCA. Brigitte loved dogs, especially her mixed-breed rescue and her German shepherd.Surviving are her mother, Carolyn Crook of Indian Land; brothers, Michael Crook (Stacy) of Charlotte and Jeffrey Crook of Indian Land; her sister, Crystal MacDougall of Indian Land; her nephew, Zachary Macdougall; her nieces, Jessica Katherine MacDougall and Alanna Jordan Crook; her maternal uncles, Jimmie Heaton (Sara) of Clinton and Tim Heaton (Marie) of Laurens; paternal uncles, Allen Crook (Jan) of Tennessee and Joe Crook (Cindy) of Charleston; her boyfriend, Dennis Walland of Charlotte; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Lillian Castleberry in 2015.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Higher Ground Church and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Higher Ground Building Fund, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, Indian Land, SC 29707 or to any dog rescue mission.Read Obituary
