Billy Joe Smith

Mr. Billy Joe Smith, age 81 of Rock Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at his home. In the midst of a pandemic we take comfort in the fact he did not die of the COVID virus.Private services will be held by the family.Born in Madison County, N.C., Billy was a son of the late Walter Liston Smith and Dovie Marie Reevis Smith. He was a retired mig welder for Duff-Norton in Charlotte around 2001. He enjoyed watching Christian programs and wrestling.Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Marie Smith-Cannon (Michael) of Catawba, S.C. and Billie J. Smith Haney (Michael) of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren, John Michael Haney and Kenzie Ann Marie Haney. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann Ashley Smith (died on Nov. 11, 2019).Memorials may be made to the Wolfe Funeral Home for Billy’s funeral arrangements.Read Obituary
