Mrs. Betty Louise Powell Ipsaro, 82, of Fort Mill and formerly of Augusta, Ga., died Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, N.C.The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the home of Richard and Brittany Padgett, 200 Melbourne Dr. in Fort Mill.A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. You are invited to visit with the family following the service.Born in Saluda, S.C., Mrs. Ipsaro was a daughter of the late Ralph Bailey Powell and Cora Belle Padgett Powell. She graduated from Columbia Business College. Mrs. Ipsaro was a homemaker and was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She volunteered in Augusta with mentally disabled adults and as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She also was a Cub Scout leader. Mrs. Ipsaro enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain.Surviving are her son, Robert Ipsaro (Alyce) of Ringold, Ga.; three daughters, Susan Padgett (d. Jimmy) of Fort Mill, Angela Jarosz (Carlos) of Augusta, Ga. and Laura Partridge of Columbia; her brother, William Henry Powell of Fort Mill; two sisters, Daisy Alice Porter and Anne Shuler, both of Saluda; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her Harbor Chase family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Ipsaro after 49 years of marriage; her son, Paul Ipsaro; her brother, George Wendell Powell; and three grandchildren, Joseph Shuler, Michelle Partridge and Christopher Ipsaro.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1639 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732; or to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way Dr., Dallas, N.C. 28034.
