Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.The funeral ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. John’s United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.Born in Lando, South Carolina, Betty was a daughter of the late Harry Pickett Campbell and Lillie Mae Hafner Campbell. A graduate of Fort Mill High School, she continued her education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop College, a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina, and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.Following her retirement, Betty returned to Fort Mill. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church where she assisted with youth programs and served on the archives committee. She enjoyed needlework and sewing. Betty also loved to travel, especially to historic places. Surviving are her niece; three nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
