Barbara Jones Swanner

Mrs. Barbara Jones Swanner, 87, of Tega Cay passed away on December 20th at Wellmore of Tega Cay, SC. Born in Burlington, NC she lived in Tega Cay for 42 years before moving to Wellmore in 2019.She graduated from Catawba College in 1955, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree. Barbara continued her love of learning as an elementary school teacher.She was a talented artist, and enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors. She had quite a green thumb when it came to her beautiful house plants. Her most joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Les Swanner in 2007, her brother Alton Jones and her parents Hazel and John JonesSurviving are her 3 children Douglas Swanner and his wife Debra Swanner of NJ, her daughters Joy Rogers of Tega Cay, SC and Ann Swanner of NC, her 7 grandchildren Derek Swanner & his wife Jackie, Brandon Swanner, Taylor Rose Swanner, Sarah Barker and her husband Brian, Robert Rogers, John Rogers and his wife Jordan, Grace Griffin and her 7 great grandchildren, Declan Swanner, Rory Elizabeth Swanner, Reagan Swanner and Liam Barker, Henry Barker, Claire Barker and Noah Rogers.Donations in memory of Barbara Swanner may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Foundation www.stjude.org.Read Obituary
