Arizona Sullivan

Mr. Arizona Sullivan, age 94, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Mill, S.C. Rev. Randy Strickland and Rev. John Riebe will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Born in Chesterfield, S.C., Mr. Sullivan was a son of the late Chapman Levi Sullivan and Bessie Mae Pittman Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan worked for Springs Industries for 25 years, and then continued his career with Stone Container (now known as Jefferson-Smurfit Corp.), where he retired after 27 years. According to some of his family members, Arizona was a sort of “Jack-of-All-Trades” and used his many talents to help his family, neighbors, and friends. In 2012, he was widowed by Clara Gaddy Sullivan, his wife of 66 years. Mr. Sullivan was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Wayne Sullivan (Sondra) of Rock Hill, S.C.; four daughters, Wanda Williams (d. Al) of Greenville, S.C., Pat Moss (Jerry) of Sharon, S.C., Judy Summerour (d. Harry) of Fort Mill, S.C., and Deborah Strickland (Randy) of Greer, S.C.; his sister, Linda Jenkins (Kenny) of Mt. Crogan, S.C.; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett, David, Wilson and Jerry and his sisters, Letha, Elma, Beatrice, Dorothy, Gladys, Yvonne and Joyce. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to his nurses: Ashlyn, Darlene, Beverly and Rene’, Jennifer for her visits; and his caregivers: Denise and Clara for their exceptional care.
