Aila Noelle Soto, age 11, passed peacefully into the Lords hands while being held with love by her very best friend and mother on Monday, December 6, 2021, at her home.A Catholic Mass for Aila will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Rock Hill, with Father John Giuliani officiating. There will be a reception afterward at 4219 Thames Circle, Fort Mill, S.C.Born in Manhattan, N.Y., Aila was the daughter of Andrew James “A.J.” Soto and Michelle Elizabeth Brohm Soto. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.Aila’s smile shined under a bridge of freckles. Aila was quick to give hugs and laugh at any joke. Aila had a very special gift... she understood the act of kindness better than most adults. She always wanted everyone to feel loved and important, she wanted them to know they were accepted. She always sided with the underdog and stood by them. Aila may have been of small stature but her tiny body housed the biggest heart on earth. She was a true child of God. Her laughter was pure of heart and her belly laugh was contagious and would bring joy even in a room of strangers, but that’s who Aila was... pure joy. She believed in God and went to be with Him the moment the bread of life touched her lips. The sign of a true believer. If people think that Irish wit is acquired over time then they are mistaken. Aila was born with the ability to make people laugh when they were sad or to chuckle when they were at the peak of anger. She was tiny but fierce and had mighty strength through every trial she faced. She was a peacemaker and a loyal friend especially to her brother Drew. Aila enjoyed sharing her interests with her brother including: drawing, riding horses, roller skating and biking. She adored babies and all animals but especially her dog, cats and horse, they were her favorites.Aila may have had a short walk on this earth but those fortunate enough to know her will carry her spirit in their hearts forever. “When a bell rings an angel gets its wings”... Aila came with a set of wings and made a lasting impression on every single person she met.In addition to her parents, Aila is survived by her brother, Andrew James “Drew” Soto, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Soto of Unionvale, N.Y., maternal grandmother, Patricia Brohm of Fort Mill, S.C.; and maternal grandfather, Robert Brohm of New Britain, Conn.; and special grandparents Joanne and Mike Sholtis of Fort Mill, S.C.; and aunts and uncles Peter Brohm of Norton Shores, M.I. and Carol Albert “Scott” of Fort Mill, S.C.; and cousins Lilliana, Hailey and Dylan Albert of Fort Mill, S.C. and Rezny Brohm of Norton Shores, M.I.Memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish® South Carolina, 225 S Pleasantburg Dr c17, Greenville, SC 29607
