Mr. Walter Franklin Whitley, 64, of Fort Mill, died Sunday, January 29th at home.A memorial service will be held at a later date.Born in Charlotte, Walt was a son of Betty Jean Wallace Whitley and the late William Lewis Whitley. He was the meat market manager at BJs in Pineville and was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping, grilling out and he loved nature.Surviving are his children, Reid Whitley (Heather) of Concord, Kassy Whitley of Stallings, N.C. and Alan Whitley (Beth) of Indian Land; his girlfriend, Kathy Buxton of Indian Land; his brother, Melvin Whitley of Mint Hill; and seven grandchildren.Read Obituary

I could not ask for a better Father-In-Law. I have known Walt for 25 years and he has always been there for all of us. Such a kind man and we are going to miss him like crazy. We love you Walt!
